We are hoping that a piece of history will be made as this will be the first time a group of 20 plus swimmers will set off on Lough Gill on this challenge together.
Did you know that Captain Web was the first male swimmer to swim the channel in 1875? Interestingly, he trained in Lough Gill when he was in Sligo to prepare for his challenge.
Also, noteworthy is that Owen O Keefe, the youngest person to swim the English Channel at the age of 16 has already entered the event.
